Western Steak and Seafood Restaurant
6800 Square Feet
This restaurant project was created as the prototype building for a multi-unit steak and seafood operator’s growth strategy. The design challenge was to create a cost-effective building that promoted the heritage of the company and could be replicated with ease in different markets through NM and TX. The design used themes and textures of old Western, historic cattle drives and cowboy lifestyle at the turn of the century. The design takes ques from regional architecture with adobe forms and a palette of stucco and earthen colors. Stone and log detailing was employed to denote a sense of substance and history for the building. Mature, native landscaping, stone walls and a patio fireplace enhance exterior spaces with a sense of being out in nature. The kitchen was oriented to create an exhibition condition, viewable to the dining room, enhancing the guest’s understanding of fresh, crafted food. The lounge and bar were separated from the dining and given a sense of old West saloons with different materials, artifacts and lighting. Carefully selected and customized art, artifacts, furniture, lighting and detailing were employed to further illustrate the Western feel.
